This basic dress is a great all-around style! It's wonderful as a light summer dress with short sleeves, or made from summer sweat fabric with long sleeves, perfect for cooler days!
The dress has a loose fit and is extremely comfortable for small children. It can be sewn sleeveless, with cap sleeves, long sleeves, or short sleeves. It's just as suitable for romping around as it is for fancy occasions! For example, it can be finished with lingerie lace (at the hem), a fake button placket, or piping. It's designed for jersey and summer sweat fabrics. For babies, it's more of a tunic than a dress and looks especially cute with tights and bloomers.
The pattern is only designed for stretchy jersey and summer sweat/French terry.
